Lomond and Helensburgh 2nds 36 - 26 Glasgow Raptors
On Saturday 23rd September we played our first ever match away against Lomond and Helensburgh.
A topsy-turvy first 10 minutes ended with Raptors scoring the first try of the match. However, Lomond and Helensburgh managed to wrestle control of the match and were the stronger side for the rest of the first half, scoring quickly to build up an impressive lead.
However, the Raptors came out in the second half with a point to prove, and steadily got better as the half progressed. Three tries in the final 15 minutes led to a grandstand finish, but we just ran out of time and ended up finishing 10 points behind the hosts.
The Raptors' player of the day was scrumhalf Jack Frame for being an absolute menace in and around the breakdown.
Congratulations also to Callum McAvoy for making his Raptors' debut. Thanks to Helensburgh RFC for hosting and to the referee for a fun, open game of rugby.
Next up we have an away fixture at our home ground as we play our ground-sharing friends Clydebank.
